What’s the Project About?

The School Physical Activity and Physical Literacy project provides B.C. educators with resources and professional development opportunities, so they can confidently create an enhanced physical activity and physical literacy learning environment for their students.

The School Physical Activity and Physical Literacy project is a prototype and all participants have the opportunity to provide feedback.

What Is Physical Literacy?

Like reading and arithmetic, which develop a literary or numerical vocabulary, physical literacy develops a “movement vocabulary” through physical and health education, and other movement experiences.

COVID-19 Healthy & Safety Guidelines

Updated as of February 4, 2021, the following documents from the Province of British Columbia’s Ministry of Health provide guidance for educators, administrators and support staff in K-12 settings to minimize the transmission of COVID-19 and maintain a safe and healthy school environment for students, families and staff.

We recommend familiarizing yourself with these resources, to ensure the continued safety and health of your school environments.
